The pre-Columbian Cuban land, the Cuban Taino Indians and their village of Guama. It was here that Christopher Columbus in 1492 met those same Indians, the Taino Indians, on the shore. And it was they who presented tobacco to the members of the expedition, which later became a cult plant throughout Europe.
